Jonathan Willis – GRF Golf Coach Ambassador for the Netherlands

As the exclusive GRF Golf Coach Ambassador for the Netherlands, Jonathan Willis represents the cutting edge of golf coaching, blending over three decades of experience as a PGA professional with the groundbreaking GRF Golf philosophy. With a deep passion for helping players achieve their true potential, Jonathan specialises in empowering golfers to reconnect with their natural movement patterns, unlocking a powerful and effortless swing.

Jonathan’s journey into the GRF Golf philosophy began 6-7 years ago, during a transformative period in his career. Despite a successful teaching background, he realised that years of technical focus had caused him to lose touch with the intuitive, natural movements that defined his junior playing days. Under the mentorship of Marcus Bell, a lifelong friend and founder of GRF Golf, Jonathan rediscovered the joy of playing through movement, feel, and trust—rather than overthinking positions or technique.

Today, Jonathan fully integrates the GRF Golf methods into his coaching, leveraging state-of-the-art technology like the BalanceLab to analyse ground forces and optimise body sequencing. His lessons are designed to help golfers of all levels experience the freedom and power of reactive motion, reprogramming their nervous system to achieve peak performance naturally.

Career Highlights

PGA Professional with over 30 years of experience: A British PGA Member for 31 years and a PGA Holland Member for 24 years, Jonathan has earned a reputation as one of the Netherlands’ most respected golf instructors.

Innovative Coaching Approach: Jonathan utilises the GRFi Training System to help golfers reprogram their natural movement patterns. This system, based on Marcus Bell’s 26 years of research, incorporates cutting-edge science in biomechanics, skill acquisition, and the brain-body connection.

The GRF Golf Philosophy – A Paradigm Shift

The GRF (Ground Reaction Force) philosophy is rooted in Marcus Bell’s 26 years of research into human performance and biomechanics. It emphasises an ecological and heuristic approach to movement, training golfers to react to the forces they apply to the ground rather than attempting to control positions.

At the core of GRF Golf is the concept of infinity motion, which can be seen in walking and reflected in the natural mechanics of the golf swing. Through targeted disruption of movement patterns and retraining the nervous system, golfers learn to self-organise and optimise their swing, resulting in a more powerful and consistent game…

Dedicated to Excellence

Jonathan’s commitment to the GRF Golf philosophy extends beyond individual lessons. By hosting workshops and training sessions, he aims to inspire players to explore their own infinity and unlock their full potential. His approach is tailored to the unique needs of each golfer, creating a learning environment where self-discovery leads to long-term success.

For Jonathan, the GRF Golf philosophy isn’t just a method—it’s a movement. His mission is to elevate the standard of coaching and redefine how golf is learnt in the Netherlands and beyond.

GRFi Training System

This innovative and unique GRFi training system includes both the GRFi Training System plus access to the original GRFi Training Video. This system is the result of over 12 years of scientific research study conducted by Marcus and provides the perfect learning environment for you to ‘self – discover’ your most ‘functional and optimal way’ of using the ground in your golf swing.
